Undertaking a thorough assessment related to the opportunities and constraints for Local Governments to use, implement and govern AI technologies in Cities responsibly

Through this project, our team assessed the opportunities and constraints for local governments to use, implement, and govern AI technologies in cities responsibly. The general question for the study was looking at the needs and capacities of cities when it comes to the use, implementation, and governance of AI in the context of local governments.

Specifically, the project aimed at understanding;

1.  To what extent, local governments were aware of AI and its implications
2.  The capacities available to facilitate responsible AI adoption and governance
3.  Needs of cities when it comes to AI use and governance in the context of local governments
4.  Strength of the AI ecosystem
5.  The good practices, lessons, and case studies on the use of AI in cities from both developed and under-developed geographical locations
